Industrial 3D scanning in Huelva

We capture industrial facilities with NavVis VLX2 to provide point clouds, as-built information and agreed dimensional checks for engineering teams and installation contractors.

What is NavVis?

NavVis is a reality capture technology. Our wearable VLX2 combines laser LiDAR sensors and panoramic cameras while an operator walks through a facility. SLAM mapping connects successive observations into a three-dimensional point cloud.

Mobile capture is useful in accessible corridors, between equipment and on authorised walkways. Multiple viewpoints help document dense structures and pipework, including areas where a drone has little room to fly or cannot see the required surfaces.

Structures and vessels

Document visible surfaces of towers, furnace envelopes and storage vessels, including spherical tanks, subject to access and coverage. Use the captured geometry as a reference for engineering work.

Layout and installation

Study available space, pipe routes and maintenance access. Compare proposed designs with the captured facility before installing new equipment.

Dimensional checks

Compare agreed elements with supplied drawings or reference data. We define tolerances, survey control and reporting requirements before carrying out the work.

From point cloud to digital twin

A digital twin represents a physical asset digitally, with the information its team needs. A point cloud supplies the geometric foundation. Models, drawings, equipment records and a remote viewer can be added when included in the agreed scope.

This shared reference supports engineering, maintenance and contractors when planning changes or space allocation. BIM modelling, operational data integration and periodic updates are additional tasks. A single scan does not automatically create a live connected operational system.

NavVis, drones and static laser scanners

NavVis supports continuous capture along accessible routes. Drones are useful for external and aerial coverage. Static laser scanners and conventional surveying instruments can complement specific zones or demanding checks. We select a combination based on the geometry, required accuracy and site conditions.

Every technique needs visibility of the measured surface. NavVis cannot see through equipment or walls. Hidden surfaces require another viewpoint or remain identified as gaps in coverage.

Can it detect millimetre cracks?

We do not promise automatic detection of one-millimetre cracks with NavVis VLX2. The manufacturer reports 6 mm point-cloud accuracy in its reference test; this is not a universal guarantee or a crack detection specification. Crack inspection and material integrity require an appropriate inspection technique.

See an official industrial demonstration

The manufacturer’s Glycol Unit demonstration shows vessels, heat exchangers, dense pipework and structures at several levels. This is an official NavVis example, not an Exitart project.

Deliverables for your engineering team

We agree point-cloud formats, coverage and survey references before the visit. As-built drawings, specific measurements, models and comparison reports are supplied when included in the scope. Measurement reports do not replace regulatory certification or material testing.

Huelva and Palos de la Frontera

We support engineering teams and installation contractors working on industrial maintenance, expansion and new facilities in Huelva and Palos de la Frontera. We also cover Moguer, Lucena del Puerto, Lepe, the Condado area and Escacena del Campo. Our office is in Moguer; other locations are available by arrangement.
